Hey Frnds
I Placed An Order With Dell (india) For Vostro 1500 Last Month N Paid Using My Credit Card Over Telephone.
I Got The Notebook 2day (appx After 20 Days). I Called Up My Credit Card Provider 2day 2 Covert This Transaction Into Installments & Guess What??
My Cc Provider Told Me That After Swapping The Card, Bank Approved The Transaction N Dell Declined It. I Wasnt Charged A Single Penny On My Card N Have Got Full Balance Available.
What 2 Do Now? Will I Have 2 Pay Dell In Future? What If I Cancel My Card 2day Itself?
Kindly Get Back..thanks..

I really don't know. I think Dell will contact you for the money. Doubt they'll let you have a free laptop. Just wait and see. Or you could be really honest and call Dell.

Call dell else your laptops service tag will get reported as a stolen one. Canceling your credit card would not be a good idea as it looks really suspicious on your part. Honesty will get you far in life, call up dell, see what they say. You still may get it for free.

Dell will get their money. It can take a few business days for a charge to be turned in and reconciled even if it is submitted electronically. The charge wouldn't have been submitted until the machine shipped so it should show up early next week if you recieved it today.
Oh, and if you close your account today, the charge would still go through, because they recieved an authorization for the charge back twenty days ago. Just an FYI. -
I had this happen with another bill a few years back, my wallet got stolen just after I agreed to do installment payments on a purchase. When I called to get a new credit card, the installments never showed up on my bill.
The company never once contacted me for payment, nor did I receive a bill.
It wasn't until a year or so later that I found 2 entries onto my credit report that indicated the debt was unpaid. I've since payed them back, but it remains on my report.
Just an FYI. -
I say let Dell know I know it seems like a "free" laptop but trust me if it affects your credit that would take a long time to fix! I went from great credit to 535 and has taken me about 2 years to get back to 700. You dont want something like a laptop affecting your good name.
