Hello, I tried D610 with PM Banias (1.4GHz, 400MHz bus, 1MB cache) and it didn't want to work. Just no POST, the screen stayed blank, power & Bluetooth LED were on, HDD & DVD drive "clicked" but nothing happened. Newest BIOS A06, D610 & CPU are 100% ok.

ps. Funny is that Dothan (533MHz bus) works perfectly with D600 (however slower - with only 400MHz bus - but IT DOES WORK).

The Banias is an old chip; it will not work in a D610 because the chipset doesn't support it. It used the older 855 series chipset; the D610 has an i915 chipset.

A Dothan will work fine; the D600 had it originally. We have several D600's at the office with Dothan Pentium M's.

Thanks for a reply. I also thought so, but the fact that 533MHz FSB Dothan works with D600 @400MHz bus is more a suprise to me than it would be if Banias worked with D610 :)
