    Hi guys.
I am thinking about puchasing Dell D520.
However, I have couple questions before making a decision.

    1. What kind of video card is in D520? I can't find that information on their website. They don't even give me any choice or show me what they included.

    2. Should I go with Windows XP Home or Windows Vista Home Basic?
Both are same price, but I am not sure which one I should go with.

Below are how I configure D520 for $1050.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz) 2M L2 Cache, 667Mhz Dual Core
LCDs 14.1 inch XGA LCD Panel
    Memory 2.0GB, DDR2-667 SDRAM, 2 DIMMS
    Hard Drives 80GB Hard Drive, 9.5MM, 7200RPM
    Module Bay Devices 24X CD-RW/DVD w/ Cyberlink PowerDVD™
    Wireless LAN (802.11) Dell Wireless™ 1490 802.11a/g Dual-Band Mini Card
    Batteries 6 Cell Primary Battery

I wanted Thinkpad t60,but it was too much financially.

    Any information will be great.
    Thanks

the video card would be the gma950, are you set on a lattitude? The 640m is close, better in some ways, widescreen display for one. Dell outlet has some really good deals, all come with the same warranty and support options as new, here is an outlet 640 I pulled up earlier for someone.

You can also save on a new system by getting the cheapest memory and HD options, then upgrading them yourself. The vista question is tricky, The basic edition will look and behave just like xp, though you will get the added security features. My personal opinion would be to stick with XP for another 6 months to a year, then move to vista home premium or buisness, give them some time to iron out the kinks.
