Dell Customer Service UK!

I purchased an Inspiron 1520 for my gf in November with a 8600m GT and 250 GB harddrive.I found the laptop to be quite good and my gf really liked it.Recently my gf was complaining about the clicking noise of the harddrive.I immediately knew it was the harddrive head parking noise.So I installed NHC on the laptop and it solved the problem.Then I thought why not give Dell UK a call and see what they say.I spoke to this guy called Bikram.I have to say the guy was very courteous and polite.I told him about the issue and also told him that the problem can be solved by installing NHC.I also pointed him to NBR and told him that this issue has been reported by many users.Firstly he performed the usual diagnostic tests with me and then he told me that he would get back to me once he did some investigation on this clicking issue.He called back exactly when he told me he would.He said that he would send out a replacement hardrive the very next day.The replacement did indeed arrive next day and to my surprise it was a Samsung 320GB instead of the Western Digital 250 GB.The best part is the Samsung harddrive is dead quiet!!The clicking noise is totally resolved and the drive feels faster than the previous one.Bikram again called to check whether everything was ok.I personally use a MBP but I have to say I am very impressed with the cust. service provided by Dell UK.

 

Thats very interesting my hdd was doing the same thing, I installed nhc. But will ring them up and see what happens.
