    Hi all...

I was offered a $20 and a $50 coupon from 2 separate CS reps and was told they would be sent via e-mail once my laptop had shipped. My laptop shipped yesterday, is slated to arrive this morning :D , but I have yet to see the coupons in my e-mail inbox. :(

I know others were given Dell coupons in varying amounts....has anyone gotten theirs, and if so, how soon did it come? Have you used it? Can you apply any of the coupon to the shipping as well?

    Thanks! ;)

I got one for 100 dollars when a dell case manager called me yesterday. Got the e-mail from them earlier this morning. So im thinking the ones that CSRs issue can only be sent when your order ships but the managers can do it instantly for you or close to.

i received my $100 coupon...in advance. weird. first i was promised a couple beforehand that would be sent to me once my laptop shipped. then i talked to another rep after having some trouble with the previous two and the new rep said she could send me a $100 coupon. i was assuming she'd do it after it shipped, which is when dell sends everything...but..i got the coupon the next day. and this was a while ago.

How are you all getting these coupons? I ordered my 1420 July 19, with an estimated ship date of August 8. When it passed the ship date by a couple of days and nobody from Dell had contacted me I tried to contact them. With no luck. I was hung up on during transfers twice, and put on hold once for so long I had to hang up myself. One call got me to a customer rep who only sounded annoyed that I had dared to call during their busiest time of this year. She didn't even want to look up my order number. She tried to brush me off immediately by saying everyone's order was delayed and there was nothing to be done about it. When she finally did look up my order number I found out my n card was apparently causing a delay. Ok, fine. (I have also recently found out that my pink lid is having delays as well, but that is no thanks to Dell.) I have no idea why she was being so snippy with me, as I was trying hard to be kind to her. I have to work help desk phones too, so I know it isn't her fault directly. But she certainly never offered me any coupons. She instead transferred me to a closed department.

I've even e-mailed customer service twice with no response other than their automated e-mails that let you know the e-mail you sent was received.

So, what are you all saying to these reps to get coupons? I'm stumped.

let them know about how lost they've left you and how you don't appreciate it or feel inconvenienced (it sounds like you genuinely are -- i would be too.) you have a good case going for you and im all for you getting compensation. call in and try to get an american rep.

Go on the chat and talk to a rep and tell them you have been waiting for quite some time and ask for some sort of compensation. Some CSRs might not budge and tell you that can't give you any compensation but if so just ask for their manager or they will send you an e-mail with a case number and you can reply to the e-mail and the manager will call you.

I received my 100 dollar coupon right away when I called in and complained for the delay to 8/29.

Sorry for the thread hijack Lindley.

    Thanks for the responses.

I guess I'll try the Live Chat option. I am not able to call because of work. When I get off of work I might try calling, but I only have a cell phone. It is very inconvenient to be put on hold for long periods of time while I waste my cell minutes.

    Thanks again!

I've sent e-mails to the agents that offered me the coupons...hopefully I will get a response from them.

I would definitely go the "chat" route...they will send you a "transcript" of your session so that you can refer back. I would also make sure you get an e-mail address for the person you corresond with.

another thing to keep in mind is that if you ordered through the epp/company/university program, you don't have access to a live chat, in which case you must call them to discuss any coupons, compensation, or basically..anything. just a heads up.

Oh, that's probably why I haven't been able to get the live chat to work. I did order through the university special where they gave you a discount for being a student. I wonder why they would not have the live chat option available for everyone. Thanks for letting me know. If Dell mentioned that during my ordering process I sure missed it.

I ordered through the EPP and have been able to do the live chat regarding my order. Not that it has helped provide me with information, assistance, or any sort of reasonable conpensation.
