I was just pricing out an e1705 and in the past the coupons had not been working on this model but, lo and behold, they do now. I configured an e1705 core Duo for $1,049 with free shipping! (60GB 5400RPM, integrated graphics, XGA, 512MB, 1.66GHz Core Duo, DVD/CDRW). I mean, that's a good price for a DTR with Core Duo as long as you don't need the nVidia graphics card (+$299)! Available coupons:

    6C$03$J1734MS? $650 off purchase of Inspiron $1999+ (expires 2/9/2006 7:00:00 AM)
    PXP$CF03FTFMT6 $500 off purchase of Inspiron $1599+ (expires 2/9/2006 7:00:00 AM)
    7ZKZLCCV0HJJD7 $350 off purchase of Inspiron $1399+ (expires 2/9/2006 7:00:00 AM)

    Woohoo! Great news.

Actually it's not too bad with the 7800. A little over $1,300 (after tax and S&H) with the $500 coupon.

It's still by far the most affordable gaming notebook with that kind of power.
