I noticed like sometimes the Dell Coupons dont work even though they should work (with qualifying laptops). Like this week's E1505, the laptop came out to over $2084, I used each coupon individually and none of them worked. Then I realized maybe its the $400 instant off that was interfering with the coupons. Whats the point of the coupons if they dont work? >.>

Which coupons aren't working?
You can usually only use one of them.
Try removing the $400 coupon.
If that fails, try closing and re-opening your browser or deleting the cache.
See instructions at http://www.notebookreview.com/dellCoupon.asp (below the coupon listing). -
i had this problem a week ago when i tried ordering an e1705: the 750 off coupon wouldn't work, but then the 30% coupon would. then the 750 coupon did work until you had to enter your credit card, where it mysteriously disappeared. so ordered with the 30% off and just for giggles went back to see if the 750 worked, and this time it went through the whole way. so i cancelled and reordered with the new 750 coupon.
the service is spotty sometimes, but that doesn't mean the coupons don't work or exist. just wait a few minutes and try closing and opening your browser. -
The $400 is the deal that the E1505 naturally comes with from Dell, or the $200 off one. So you cant really remove it since its part of the package (all the E1505 have at least a $200 off at the moment...). Ill try clearing out my cache.
EDIT: Finally the details on the coupon showed up, read the fine print and I saw my mistake, it was on SPECIFIC E1505 models... -
Yes, most of our coupons are available for certain systems. Generally the high pre-configured laptops do not work with the coupons lately. Then again, i heard that dell's website has been acting strange lately.

If you select the E1505 on Dell's website, you can select from:
Base System
Music and Photos
Ultimate Productivity, or
Ultimate Entertainment
The Base System only offers the Core Solo and you can't upgrade to the Core Duo, but the other ones can all be (mostly) configured up or down to end up with the same system.
Try building up a "Music and Photos" machine rather than building down an "Ultimate Entertainment" machine and you might have more success. -
maybe the coupons have reached there limit -
I know that they will tell you if the coupon can't be used (you try to use an Inspiron coupon on a Latitude, or you try to use a $999-up coupon on a $749 system), but I have seen the 30% off coupon apply as 20% off for no good reason. -
Just like Tiger-Heli and SG said, choose the most basic laptop that can have Core-Duo and configure it to apply. When a coupon doesn't work, it will tell you why in view details. Check the E-value code that's there and configure a laptop with the one E-value that matches what you want.
And yes, sometimes the coupons reach their limit and Dell will let you know when it happens. Just wait till next Thursday for new coupons. -
If you try to use the coupon and it doesn't work, generally it will either tell you that it is not eligible for this particular system (so try configuring a lower system - don't choose the highest configuration possible) or it will pop up a with a box, and should give you more details.
I just tried it, and box popped up saying that the 30% had reached it's maximum number of uses. I've also had a box pop up asking me to log in, telling me that my system doesn't meet requirements etc.
The point I'm trying to make is that if the coupon does not work, you should receive some kind of error as to why.
