    Hi,

Having a complete nightmare with Dell at the moment, situation is:-

    1) Order a Laptop last week
    2) Called up to change the spec and was told I would have to cancel the order then re-order
    3) Called up today to cancel, I asked all the right questions, can I cancel etc and I will not be charged etc, they confirmed that it had been cancelled and I would not be charged over the phone and it would take a while for thes status of the order to be updated
    4) I asked should I wait until I received confirmation of the cancelation, they advise NO, its been cancelled and I can now order a replacement and the payment for the cancelled order will not go through
    5) I ordered replacement laptop, and stupidly did not make a note of the ref number because you receive an email instantly confirming the Internet Ref and followed by another email with details of the order and order number.
    6) After waiting 2 hours I received no email confirmation, so I call up and all they can give me is the old order number of the one I cancelled, I then mention that thats the Order Number for the cancelled order....but NO !! They then tell me it was to late to cancel the order !!! and it is actually going to do through !!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    7) They tell me to then wait for the replacement order details to come through as I can cancel that order still
    8) 7 hours later I still have not received any emails from them regarding the replacement I ordered online which I need to cancel
    9) When I called up again they just keep saying wait 24 hours for email to come through, but why should it take 24 hours !!!!! when before the email came through in a matter or seconds
    10) I just now happened to check the status of the order I asked to cancel but was told it was too late, and it now appears as cancelled !!!!!! when the last thing they told me was it was to late to cancel !!!!

So I am still clueless what to do next, will I have 1 pC comming to me 2 pcs or none !!!

Does anyone have a phone number of Dell in the UK or Ireland who I can contact or try and sort this mess out at all please as I seem to just be going round in circles when I speak to the call centres in india etc !!

    Cheers
    Diddy

Sorry to hear about this problem that you're having.

I believe the Uk / Ireland call centres are for technical issues and business sales, and that they'd only direct you back to the call centres you have been in communication with already. You could always ask to speak to someone more senior in the call centre because you've been messed about a little; but be polite when you ask that. Also, whatever the outcome of the call, ensure they send you an email confirming the conversation.

Cheers, have since spoken to them.

They have confirmed my original order is cancelled which is good news, however they still cannot give me a defninite answer on the order I have placed since, they have advised that due to a system upgrade emails are being delayed.

It has been over 24hours now since I placed the order on the internet so I will just have to wait.....
