So I just got a new Dell Lat e6520 through work and the 1080p matte screen is bright and clear... but has vertical lines (screen door effect) running up and down it... much like the very cheap 1366x768 lcds ... I'm very surprised about this coming form a 1080p screen... but it is very annoying..

I can't really return it as it's though work and the screen is probably not defective or anything.

Any thoughts? My one thought is to find software that overlays a semitransparent image over your entire desktop and applications (mac had something like this) and then have a very light gray grid to try and counteract the vertical lines.....

    Thanks all..

there is nothing saying you can't call dell and complain - requesting a new display

My display had a fuzzy pixel inversion effect. I called Dell and with the Onsite warranty they were willing to simply replace it.

However, there's no way to know whether you'd get another AUO panel or the LG panel.

I already had a problem with another laptop screen at work recently, so I have to be careful.... I wish there was a way I could just replace the screen without voiding the warranty....
