Is it possible to cancel an order and get a full refund 4 days after placing an order?

Has it been shipped? What's the status of the order?

The status is In Production and the estimated ship date is the 18th.

What don't call them and ask them? The clock is ticking.

Even if it does arrive, you have the first 7 days from point of receipt to call Dell and ask for a refund. This isn't part of their ToC but it is a standard grace period.

Even if there is nothing wrong with the system they still have to give you your money back. Let them deliver the system, have a play around on it, and if you still don't want it phone up the Tech Support line.

shouldn't you call customer service instead of tech support? i really dont believe tech support will help you with cancellation.

I just canceled an M1210 order that I had made Monday. (Price dropped $200 overnight, so I canceled and reordered.) The canceling process took about five minutes on the phone. But who knows, maybe it goes better if you're canceling & reordering as opposed to just canceling.

I've cancelled my fair share of orders. As long as it has not shipped, you should be fine.

Being an employee at Dell, could you say something about the pricing for the Inspiron 1520? I know its not your department, but hey, it's still Dell.

I find this entertaining. The last time I ordered a 19" lcd from Dell Malaysia last year, I tried to cancel it and wanted a 17" Lcd instead (don't ask). I called my sales rep the day after I ordered and he told me he'll need to charge me some restocking fee if I cancel. Back then, I have no idea about refusing the shipment or what not. The last time I read around a forum about some free 2GB memory upgrade that Dell offered, the day after a poster ordered, he tried to get the deal canceled or get them to upgrade FOC, but the sales rep tried to sell him a printer for the memory upgrade.

I'm in the dark about Dell's policy and yes, I'm too lazy to look around in Dell's website for it. Can anyone enlighten me about this cancellation policy, and whatever mumbo jumbo policy that Dell has? or just give me a link.

    Thanks

I've been able to cancel no problem. As long as it hasn't shipped you're fine. Call them now if you need to cancel something, and don't give customer service any other choice but to cancel. Restocking fees only take effect the product gets shipped.

How much are restocking fees normally? And do they charge you for the restocking fee upon return? Or do they deduct it off of the amount they refund to you?

I have cancelled with dell when i bought a desktop.
as long as u have NOT signed paperowrk to say you have accepted shipment
then legally they can not charge u a cancellation fee
in australia the cancel fee is $174 but only if u have signed to say u have receipt of the package.!!!!
dont listen to what they say over phone
u cant be billed if u cancel order legally before signing for package

u work for dell??i was thinking about buying a dell
would u say - as someone who works for tech support
that the XPS 1710 really is the very best "media" notebook that dell has to offer?
