Well I talked to a Dell representative today for quite a few hours to push the penryn release date out on the XpS 1530.

Q: When will it be released?
    A: Very Very soon
(my question is summerized while the answer is the way the representative had written it)]

Q: Soon as in 2 weeks? .. I might not order otherwise...
A: No, it will not likely be released for 15 days.]

Is that correct or is she trying to say it will be released sooner in a hidden message?

I actually had her quite angry and writting in Capitals near the end  :p

Well she might be telling the truth but I spoke to an agent on chat 2 months ago about when Penryn will be released on the m1330 in the UK.

She said very soon, and it was actually 6 weeks until Penryn dropped into the m1330s in the UK.

    Needless to say I didn't wait :p

Penryn CPU's are now available on every Dell laptop EXCEPT the XPS M1530 and M1730, the Inspiron 1525, the Latitude D530 and the Vostros in the USA. I can't imagine that it will be long before the XPS M1530 gets the Penryn's.

This is the reason why Dell doesn't tell us about Penryn's release date :D

I love the XPS models. I ordered an m1330 that arrived with a terrible screen. I'm going to wait out the 30 day period and exchange it for an m1530 with penryn. If they don't introduce penryn to the 1530's within the next 14 days I'm sending the 1330 back and jumping ship to another brand.

How long do you have to return or exchange an XPS laptop? I just got a 1330, (with a grainy screen) and also want to get a 1530 with a penryn as a replacement. Is is 21days, 30 days?
And if you tell Dell the the screen is faulty, can't Dell insist that they replace the 1330 with another 1330, and not let you exchange it for something else?
