For everyone who has ordered a laptop with a WXGA screen in it, there is a 9 day backorder.

Call the automated order status. They will tell you.

There is no automated service in Canada. Honestly speaking, the methods of checking order status in Canada are pathetic to say the least. I suggest dropping by on your local Dell kiosk and asking one of the reps to check your status. They will do so using a program called DOPS. You will be able to actually see on the screen exactly where your order is and if there is a delay, you will be able to see exactly which part is delaying it.

The automated service is for Dell USA only. If it tells you your laptop shipped a long time ago, it means that your order number is identical to that of another order in the 'States from awhile back.
