Is it just me that after the Nvidia scandal with the defective 8600M / 8400M series Dell has almost completely reverted to Ati. It's good to see some competition on the mobile graphics market.

Or maybe its just the fact that ATI has very competitive GPUs at the moment...

Bingo  This thing is almost three times as fast as the HD 8400 GS and the HD 3200.

ATI doesn't have as much cool stuff you can do though, for example CUDA and physx

CUDA and physx matter for the 9800s and the GTXs, not for this segment of the market.

    Also:

    $778 CDN = $628 USD

Very nice ;) (P.S. The memory is left at 1GB because noone with half a brain would pay $150 for 4GBs of memory when you can pickup 4GB DDR2 800 SODIMM notebook memory for $50 at your local computer shop, and they'll install it for you)

I hope so see benchmarks soon. That card should be quite faster than an HD 3450...

I'm guessing the HD4300 is better than an 8400 or 8600?

Hmm ... Tempting since its so cheap.

    Goes something like:

    Geforce 8600M > HD 4330 > Geforce 9400M > HD 3450 > 8400M/HD 3200

for the price, this is quite the attractive purchase. coupled with a P8600 or P8700 plus 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit OS, the notebook is pretty good.
