Did any of you guys get the email from dell.ca about the so called "Save up to 75% off your next Dell purchase."

Who actually got higher than the 20% code?

I recieved the e-mail, got the 20% coupon and quickly realised that I'd actually be paying more by using the coupon. Ugh is all I say

I got that 20% off coupon too. Its more like a 5% off as you can't stack coupons and also the price of laptops on this deal bumped up high.

75%? That sounds way too good to be true. Dell would never offer that kind of deal.

And I agree that even the 20% coupons are a waste.

I think that 75% is a typo in their add they pressed the key 7 by mistake it was intended to be 'save up to 5%'.

By calling dell is it possible to get this laptop for around cdn $1450 - $1500. Also what's the pass code to haggle, I talked with one sales guy but didn't get him to come down price from 1600. I even gave the pitch that one can buy two e1501 for the price of one Inspiron 6400 even though there is not that huge difference between the two.

It was funny I told the Dell sales guy that in US during thanksgiving one could have bought 16 of dollar 99 compaq laptop's for the price one Inspiron 6400 that he quoted me. But he still didn't budged.

I'm wondering if Dell is doing Ok financially.

Try telling them, you can't justify the price and why the US get all these nice coupons every week with the flexibility in the world. While we Canadians get these Getto coupons with only one link to use and the base price goes up the roof with no downgrade option. If he say that their prices are very competitive, say no is not. Why do I have to pay more then the Americans when the laptop is the same, produced in the same country, and all get processed in Texas. Even the sales is outsauced to India and still we pay more?

Maybe if alot of people complained and send them emails like this, we might get better deals. :D

The sales guy agreed for $1500 amount (i was getting $1663 with coupon) and he put me on hold so that he can discuss the price with his manager. After 15 mins he came back and said the manager is willing to offer further discount of only 10 buck that is $1653. I said I guess i will just shop around with other vendors.

HHAHAHA 10 stinken bucks, it will be funny if the manager offered another 50 cents off while he's at it.

And then you say: NOOO WAY!!!

He say: Fifty cents is a lot of money. You save fifty cents here then maybe somewhere else, you save another fifty cents, then you have a dollar. Then you take your dollar, you go to the dollar store, you buy something else.'"

This will be the perfect time to hang up.

HAHAHA, Russell Peters got it all wrong, it's not just the Chinese that can't give bargains, its the Indians too. Their objective is to get every penny from you.
