I've had the dell 350 bluetooth module working fine for the last year and a half of Vista, but this latest SP has broken it. I tried reinstalling the old drivers to no avail. If anyone has any ideas, let me know heh.

What problems are you having? I have SP2 on my Vista Business and just attached to my phone and browsed files on it, no problem. SP2 has upgraded BT support so could certainly be causing you problems.

I do have the 355 BT module though.

I ended up just physically removing it and reconnecting it... That did the trick. I'm still having troubles connecting to my beloved bluetooth mouse though.

Any particular procedure for this upgrade install or just run and go?

Just download and run the installer. No need to uninstall your exisiting driver.

I appreciate the help batboy, but that doesnt seem to be working... The installer just stop at : "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless switch" and doesnt go any further. I tried FN+f2 to activate and deactivate the switch repeatedly, didnt do anything.

Double check your BIOS settings as well as the Wireless section of Quickset if you have Quickset installed. Be sure Quickset has the option to control the bluetooth card via the FN+F2 enabled.

The only other remotely similar problem I could find might be this:

Very odd. Sorry I wasn't able to turn up more. If you are still under warranty, maybe a call to support?

I had the same problem as Hawkshark, on a Dell Studio 1537 laptop that I had upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate (64).

The install program for the Dell Bluetooth 370 card kept stalling with the "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless switch" message. Fn-F2 didn't work, neither did the wireless switch on the side of the laptop, fooling around in the BIOS setup, etc.

I got it to work this way.

First, I uninstalled the "Unknown Device" (go to "Devices and Printers"; right-click & select Properties for unknown device; go to Hardware tab; click Properties; click Change Settings; go to Driver tab; click Uninstall.) I had done this step several times before, and always got stuck at the same point described above. But this time I shut the computer down and removed the battery. Left it that way for a short while (long enough to walk the dog.)

When I put the battery back in and turned the laptop back on, it recognized the bluetooth card as a generic USB device and installed drivers for it automatically. I don't know if that step was necessary for anything, but once it was done I was able to run the bluetooth installation, and now everything works.

My guess is that removing the battery was needed to somehow reset the internal combination of hardware & software that decides that the card is on or off.
