I forgot to get the internal Dell module for my XPS M1530. I was wondering if anyone can give me the part number for this module. I have searched Dell's website for this part number, 430-2566, that was on my wife's invoice for her 1530 but I am not getting any results. Also, can this part be installed by the end user?

Yeah it can be installed by the end user. The bluetooth chip sits just about, directlyunderneath the XPS logo on the left top panel of the keyboard. I saw a techie take it apart and it is easy to mimic. But, be very very careful when you take that top piece off (th pice with the power button/touch buttons) because there is a little wire that connects to the chassis that can break very easily. The dell onsite guy showed me and said that dell usually packs them (the dell on site guys) an extra cord/unit just in case it breaks...that's how easy it is to break. But, he did it, so you can too - just do it carefully.

Sorry I don't know the part number..

Did that no luck. Will the module for the M1330 work or should I just call Dell and talk to them?

I called Dell yesterday and they only had 'refurbished' Bluetooth module for $11 so I ordered one. Read up on it on these forums and I think I can pull if off. Only two worries I have are:
    1. Damaging the panel you have to pry up to access it.
    2. I've read that the driver / software included are bloatware.
Anybody had any experiences with this?

Maybe you should call Dell and double check but I'm pretty sure it's this one:

    DELL
Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0 + EDR) for Windows Vista for Select Dell Systems
    Usually Ships 1-2 weeks
    Manufacturer Part# GK103
    Dell Part# 430-2341

I also got a refurbished 355 BT module. It is working very well in my Vostro 1400 now. Look for the installation instruction at Dell. It is very easy and it would not damage the panel if you follow the simple instruction. Just be careful when you are pulling the connector/cable out. There is no driver/software/bloatware included at least with the refurbished unit. Just download the driver (you may get a newer version from Anycom using their USB250 driver). Again, there is no bloatware at all with this device driver.

Thanks for the reply billcsho. I've seen the article on installing and it is shown in my Dell XPS M1530 manual also. I just don't know what to use to open it as I don't have a 'plastic scribe'. I thought I recalled reading somewhere on here that the software was junk. Dell phone rep told me I would be getting driver / software CD with it but I think I'll follow your advice and get it directly from Dell website.
