    curious as to when dell usually bills their customers. pre/post delivery of item? i get my laptop today and i like the way my checking's account is looking. i did get charged the day of order placement but all that money has been put back in.

    they should have billed within a day or two of shipping it.

    They normally do a pre-authorization which is a common thing with most companies. They'll contact your bank/credit card and verfiy that you have the available funds on this. In most cases, this amount is shown as unavailable or deducted from your account, but in reality it is still there - you just can't use it.

    Once your laptop has been shipped, the money is then charged to your account.
