    Hi,

well, here are the prices for the video card options on the Inspiron 9400 in Benelux (Dell Belgium & Luxembourg!):

    • Intel® Media Accelerator 950 jusqu'à 128Mo de mémoire partagée [Inclus dans le prix]
    • Carte Graphique NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7800 Go, 256Mo PCI-Express x16 [ajouter 290.40 € ou 13 €/mois-1]
    • Carte Graphique NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GFX, 256Mo PCI-Express x16 [ajouter 665.50 € ou 30 €/mois-1]
    • Carte Graphique DDR ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 256Mo PCI-Express x16 [ajouter 108.90 € ou 5 €/mois-1]
so what happened to the NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS ?

Now, as the 7900 GFX is shown as an option, does that mean I can try for an upgrade for around €300 Euro if I trade in my 7800 Go - I mean how does that work, do I have to pay the €665 for the 7900 GFX, and sell my 7800 Go on eBay, or will they do a trade in?

    Any thoughts?

    thx

    Philip

Interesting....Checked on the belgium site and tried to read on the help me decide tab but it didn't mention the 7900 GFX card as an option for the 9400 (didn't mention it at all) but for that price, I would expect it to be the GTX version (even though it has only 256MB) but then again, it might be th GS version.

Regarding your question, I am assuming you already own a 9400. Since you already do, your best option is to sell your laptop and order a new one, but if I were you, I wouldn't bother as much since you already have a very good laptop and the upgrade isn't worth to go through the hassle of selling and buying another one.

thanks, I agree the pricing is strange ... for a Go version of the card 600 euros seems a trife excessive...
