    Does the DBRP apply to notebooks ordered recently or only those between April 1, 2004 and July 18, 2006 (dates taken from https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/)?

    I recently ordered an XPS M1710 and just realised that this notebook is on the site above.

    If your notebook isn't purchased between those dates, then you shouldn't be affected with the problem.

    You could always check if your battery model is one of the listed:
    https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/batterymodels.aspx

    Or check the PPID if it's one of them:
    https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/Identify.aspx
