A few minutes ago I got a call from Dell.

Now imagine my surprise when the person on the other end giving me my details and telling me that my two batteries I have for my Dell 700m laptop were part of the affected batteries.

My problem is I checked the site that allowed me to enter the serial number and was told when this first came out that my battery was fine, and even checking them again now, telling me they are fine.

I have a job order number to track my order. All they confirmed was my name, address, And reference numbers for computer and battery. Nothing else (now if they asked for cc or bank details, I would have told them to go jump), But no.

I was told that within 20 days my two new batteries would be here and to give the person that delivers my new batteries, my old affected ones.

Anyone else had this happen, after checking their batteries and thinking they were fine, when they were not??

One of my 700m's batteries is on the recall list, another one is not. Both are assembled in China from Japanese components, btw.
