So, I keep seeing all these negative threads about Dell...their systems, customer service, shipping time, etc. It is great that people get a chance to post their concerns and experiences on this board. After all, that is one reason it is here.

But, I wanted to post a positive thread about Dell to show my love for them.

For the past decade, Dell's are the only systems I have ever purchased because I have never had a bad experience with them. I have purchased 3 laptops and 3 desktops for myself, in addition to numerous systems for others. They are all great - the last a long time too.

Not only are the systems great, but I have always received them before the estimated shipping time. And, the tech support has been awesome the few times I have had to call.

I realize that my experience may be unique on this board...I guess I have always been really lucky *knock on wood*. And, it sucks that others have had such negative experiences. I feel bad for all of you and it is crappy that you have to go through bad experiences with them.

I just wanted to share my positive experience with Dell to give another perspective to those who are considering buying a Dell, but are wary due to the negative feedback of others.

If you all have had positive experience with Dell and also love their system, please share...

It's about time Dell got a thread that shows them some love :)

I'm a builder normally but as I was in the market for a laptop I had to go hunting. Dell offered more bang for buck and configuration options not available in any other brand.

Was delayed in production during the screen supply problems but I was given a discount for my troubles. Developed a couple of stuck pixels, technician arrived the next day and swopped it out. Rang up for some info about the second HD caddy, the parts arrived the next morning.

Other than that the 1700 has been great - fast, well built and behaved itself admirably.

Pleased enough to purchase an Inspiron desktop for the lad for Christmas rather than build him one.

Had a good experience so far - would recommend Dell to anyone.

Other than a really long delay for my last Dell notebook, I have nothing but positive experiences with Dell...
btw, this is the 5th Dell notebook I purchased...and I guess it`s not gonna be the last one...

I just recieved my Inspiron 1520 from Dell and I am extreamly satisified with this system =). It is fast well built and it came earlier then i expected, also I have not experieced any of the problems that have been posted about this laptop =). There is no hum or buzz from the CPU southbridge or the headphone jack!. I love my new system, and I hope that Dell continues to produce awesome products at a great price.

This is our 3rd Dell for the family.

Had great customer service with their CSR deparement, and a good experiences with their Technical Support (GASP!). If you go into a converstaion dreadding it, its going to be one boring, horrible experience. Dell has always been good to us, prompt when we needed something replaced (ie keyboard, screen, hard drive).

I guess for most Dell is hit or miss. But for 5 years straight, Dell has been hitting all cylinders with us.

lol, dell is actually pretty fine. Its their shipping partner UPS that earned my ire. So far, dell is getting better with their price/performance options, but I hope this year they do something different to shake up their lineup.

Dell is as good as it gets in terms of delivering bang for the buck, solid support (especially with XPS) and so on. great product.

Been using Dell since I was a kid. Learned to build a desktop doing surgery on a Dell. Owned quite a few Dell laptops over the past few years and have had no major problems with any of them. Of all the Dells in my family only one has outright died.

    Hello,

This is Richard from the Dell Online Community Outreach group. I am very proud to be a part of Dell, today more than ever, because I get the opportunity to read and respond to comments like yours. Normally I am responding to posts that are not as complimentary as this one, as my team focuses on unresolved support issues. It’s nice to know that our hard work to provide the best products and services are improving the lives of our customers and making them happy.

We’ll keep working with our customers by listening to what you have to say, be it concerns, compliments or suggestions. I think building a personal relationship with our customers helps them get what they need and helps us become better as well.

Thank you for showing Dell some love.

    Warmest regards,

    Richard B

You should take up my case then. Might restore my faith in dell. lol

As for appreciation... I loved em when I had my working e1705. The machine rocked, they always helped with fixing the broken parts as fast as they could, and even gave me a 100$ gift card thing (that I don't really have anything to use it on yet, but it's good to have I suppose for that just incase scenario).

I have purchased nearly 50 Dell units in my lifetime (work and home) and never had a bad experience. Price, performance, on-site service, durability, dependability, and phone support are all top notch compared to the compeition. Unless they screw things up, I'm sticking with Dell.

Ordered mine on 3rd Jan, and it had arrived on the 8th Jan, despite dispatch date stating 23rd January. My 1530 is silent in every aspect, right down to the DVD drive - I couldn't be more happier. My only annoyance was that larger res screens wasn't added to the UK site until 2 days after I ordered my machine.

I am a loyal Dell person and don't see myself by any other system - partly because of the systems, but also because of the awesome customer support and reps!

Thanks for doing the job that you do...I am sure that it isn't easy :)

I've had an Inspiron 8600 since early 2003. It's been an absolute rock! It runs as well today as it did five years ago, and I've never had to call customer service about anything.

I did order a M1330 on Sunday 21 Jan, this week and I will get my deliver this evening. That is very fast after all and very possitive first impression by Dell, since this is my first computer from them. So I think it would fit in to this thread.

Like SteveJonesy said, I'm a builder normally, but I recently switched to a Mac and I couldnt convince my wife to do the same (she was stuck on getting a pink Dell). I was a bit hesitant, but Dell offered some pretty good specs at very good prices (even more so when using the Dell coupons). I ordered two Inspiron 1521 machines (one for my wife, one for my daughter for a future gift), and I have to say neither have any of the flaws that users have reported in some of these machines. Shipping on both units was fast (ordered about 2 weeks apart), and out the box they both performed exceptional (even more so after tweaking Vista and boosting the RAM to 2gigs).

It is up to you, but I would wait. Whenever I checked the status of my xps m1330, it said "in production." It didn't switch over to "shipped" until the day before I received it. So, it seems like the status they post online may not accurately reflect the stage it is in.

I am not sure if others experienced the same thing, but that was my experience. By the way, I got my laptop before the estimated ship date. So, you may get a surprise :) Good luck!

Now...back to that group hug ;)

I have had three Dell laptops, four desktops, a couple of servers and a couple of laser color printers from Dell in the last ten years. All worked flawlessly, and I never had a single problem. In fact, Dell went out of its way to fix my vertical line issue here in the Middle East. Kudos to Dell. I am glad, I got a chance to voice my positive opinion in this thread.

Now, if they would only come out with some more exciting laptops! I know they have a few cool things up their sleeve (have seen some internal memos...) but can't wait till they are out in the open!

I'm very satisfied with my dell, I just hope nothing breaks ... no warranty on my inspiron 1520.

But what I was most satisfied with was their shipping. I needed the laptop in a HURRY - I'm a computer student and my other laptop died and I needed a laptop for a programming student.

I figured a referb unit would be cheaper and get here quicker. I got my referb inspiron 1520 in a week ... which is quicker than the on campus ibm service center can replace a motherboard apparently.

I also like how my referb inspiron 1520 looked brand new ... no visual signs of wear.

Okey now im a 100% Dell lover, they did deliver my M1330 in 4 days total after I did order it, and on top of that its seams like I have got a perfect ex of it aswell, I can not find a single fault on yet, and well its not like im looking activly after them but nothing have come up so far building quality is perfect, screen is perfect, it does not make a peep and even the dvd player is not loud at all.

So thank you DELL for a really good computer, in so short time.

I originally started loving Dell when I did a 4th grade project on them. Our first computer in the U.S. was a Dell Dimension T Series that my dad bought in 1998 because it was the best computer for the least money. Since then, I have researched Dell and have loved Dell everyday of my life. I always am researching the company and am always convincing people to buy from Dell. A lot of the time I don't have to do much convincing, since the people I know buy from Dell and Dell speaks for itself with it's fantastic quality and great pricing. But I'm always ready with my knowledge of Dell to convince those people who are just to stubborn to see how good Dell is. So far, I've converted a couple of my friends, my mom from a Medion desktop to a Dell Inspiron 600m, and both my sisters from two Toshibas (which were crap) to an E1505 and a 1420. They are all EXTREMELY happy with their purchases and always thank me. So in my family in 10 years, we've bought a desktop (that has lasted 10 years without a scratch), 4 Dell laptops, and 1 Digital Jukebox (1st Gen, which is still working great) and they've all been lovely. Dell, you're doing a great job. Keep it up.

Oh, and we SHOULD sticky this thread!

My mom has been interested in getting a laptop for a while now and I finally ordered her a vostro. When she asked about what kind of laptop she should get, I told her that as long as it is a Dell, she will be set (she is going to use it for basic computing things).

I have no doubt that she will love her new toy, as much as I have loved all my current and previous toys form Dell :) Her estimated ship date is today (we just ordered it on Saturday), and I have no doubt she will get it by the end of the week.

I agree. There seem to be so many people out there that ***** and moan about Dells and tell you not to buy them, while I have not had any issues at all with them. Over the course of my purchasing life I have owned 4 Dells, all of which are still going strong 4 or 5 years later. Dell makes great computers that are built to last and perform and I appreciate what they offer for the price that they offer.

I have to agree. Dell is by the best OEM I have dealt with. Having extensive computer experience, anytime I call dell for support I have already diagnosed the issue, tell them the steps on how I arrived at my conclusion. Then I tell them what part I need and they A send it to me directly and I install it, or B a tech comes with in a few days and does a fantastic job. Its funny the bull**** people pull here with Dell Demanding new system after system, not many or any OEM would deal with their ****. I am proud to do business with Dell. Solid machines, good support, and great prices if you know where to look.

I have to add a positive comment on behalf of my mom. I ordered her a Vostro on Saturday (1/26) and it arrived less than a week later on Friday (2/1). Plus, she got an awesome deal.

She hasn't had a chance to play around with it yet, but based on the price and shipping alone, she is very satisfied!
