Have had the Studio 1747 for 24 days and it has frozen up requiring a power down to reboot over 20 times.
I did the reboot F12 go to diagnostics and it found a N-Trig error in the USB section.
I called the Dell Support number and was told the error was for the touch screen.
I let the Agent do a Remote Desktop connect. He opened the Event Monitor and found over 20 Critical Events.

He said a 32 bit Win7 Ultimate disc would be posted to me in 2 days and to format and install.
And to let him know how the laptop behaves afterwards.

    Bottom Line...
The next morning after the phone call and RDP, I called and left a message that I would not accept that deal.
There are no 32bit Win7 drivers on the Dell Driver Download page.

    My thoughts exactly.

The problem was caused by Windows 7 64bit, and the replacement is 32bit?

    Sorry for the confusion,

I tried to delete this post as no body was interested in replying about the title.

    Update...
The Dell Agent called me last night and offered a choice...
    1) A tech would come to my house with new parts.....or....
    2) A new laptop

Of course, I chose a new laptop.
He said it would arrive in two to three weeks.

    We'll see what happens.

Good luck; if you were getting those USB errors on the diagnostic tool, I don't see how the operating system has anything to do with it (AFAIK that diagnostic tool runs off the computer's firmware, off OS, right?)
