I noticed that my new Inspiron 13's power plug is not the same shape as my old 700m, or my older brother's Studio 15. Is this also the case with the m1330? Why the change in plug? I had several chargers for my 700m and it made it very convenient leaving one at home, school, in my bag, etc...

The I13 is the only one I've seen with the octagon plug. My wife's m1330 has the old circular one.

Kinda sucks. The batteries are the same, though.

Do either of you have a picture of this octagonal plug? I'm really surprised that this is the case. It should have the same power plug as all the other Dell laptops built in the past four or five years. Dell even lists the 1330 and 1318 as sharing the power adapter:

    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Power/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=310-9249

Furthermore, if you take a look at the pictures of the 1318 on Dell's site, they also depict the standard power plug:

I attached a somewhat crappy quality picture of the plug. It looks the same, just the metal part is an octagon shape.

The notebook's picture on the Dell website is how the notebook looks. The difference is on the inside of the case. If you don't look inside and see the octagon shape, you would never know it's different until you try to plug in another inspiron cord.

The website that shows the standard power cord for the m1330 and i13 is confusing.... just the wrong picture? But then again, the m1330 uses the other one.

I own both of the computers. I think I have a pretty good idea of what the plugs look like.
