    Dell 9300 and 6000 parts swappable?

    I currently own a Dell Inspiron 9300 and will be ordering another 6000 this week. I would like to buy the 6000 with a 2.0ghz processor and 2 gigs of RAM, but to swap the processor and ram to my 9300 (which currently is running on a 1.60ghz processor and 1.0 gig of ram).

    I assume the processor is a non-issue but do the two systems share compatible RAM? I remember someone telling me that notebook RAM is notoriously problematic in terms of compatibility.

    It would be cheaper if you bought the RAM outside of Dell instead of swapping anyway...

    yes, but i'm concerned about the compatibility - what brand would you recommend for i9300?

    also, the nice $750 off coupon makes it kind of worth it.

    yes, they use the same ram
