i have a 9100. I dont know about the screen thing though... i sitll think the sony screens are alot brighter.

I got a prescot processor in mine.. around here its apparently better to get a northwood tho (runs cooler?).

I have no problems with my machine and it can run pretty muhc any game i throw at it.

    Hi Rockerfx,

I can't comment too much on the 9100 as I don't own one, but everyone I have ever heard comment on it says, especially with the setup you specify, that it is blazingly fast! It is SUPPOSED to come with a Prescott processor, but they have been shipping them with Northwood processors lately due to a shortage of Prescott's. I am not sure on the latest on the supply problem, others on the forum will be able to tell you about that.

What I can comment on is the display. The resolution is much higher than on the Vaio Ultrabright, and the brightness is just as good. It is also just as clear in my opinion. The only thing the Vaio is better for is displaying black -- this means the dark-light contrast is better I think.

The 9100 is excellent for its speed, but it is a little heavy, bulky and with low-battery life to be a mobile laptop. If these things don't bother you, definitely go for it. Otherwise an 8600 or M60 would be a better choice. [ :)]
