    Hello!

    (sorry for my bad english...)

I have found a "strange" and very fast hd on the Dell Website:

73 GB (10000 RPM  ) IDE Hard Drive for Dell Inspiron XPS-2 and XPS M170 Notebooks (ROHS Compliant)

It is true, or it is impossible? I have searched but I cannot find more informations.

    What you think?

    Thanks for any response!

I doubt it, couldn't find anything on the USA Dell. If it's speed you want, get a solid slate drive.

It looks like it's for real, but i can't find any info on the size. Why do you assume it's a 2.5" hdd? I think it's a 3.5" drive, and they are'nt that uncommon in 10.000rpm.

it clearly says for notebooks, and I don't know about you, but I've never seen a notebook that's able to house a 3.5" device. Not even a 2" thick notebook could do that! Ok mabe it can, but I've never seen one!

Googling reveals hits for serial attached scsi devices that are 10k and 2.5". I think this is for a server. If Dell could get a 10k laptop drive that could handle being installed in a laptop, I'm sure Dell would sell it.
