Darker keyboard would look better, in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Ya, I like the darker, however I do like the new pure silver chasis compared to white trim (which isn't too bad itself - personal taste).

No I had seen images on another site entirely. I will try to find them and drop a line.

...No 710m released by Dell yet, thought it was supposed to come out today, no surprise though...I just wan't to see it, and it's features, then decide between the 710m or 700m (before the 700m goes off the market).

Is the chipset and exterior colors supposed to be the only difference? Is the 710m going to have new Sonoma technology?

From what I hear, the 710M is the EXACT same as the 700M except for the keyboard color. WHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!?!?

And that's it...it's just a cosmetic update. Hence my advice earlier in teh week not to wait if you found a good deal on the 700m.

    >.< I know, but I'll just wait out now for this 'new colored' machine. I've waited so long already, what's another few weeks. Plus, any service things, parts ect, will be easier to maintain as this will be Dell's focus (no longer the 700m once the 710m is released). Know what I mean....kind of?

mm..dell will still focus on 700m too since the parts are the same..except for the color. if you paid for the warranty/misc services, no doubt they will help you no matter. it all goes down to .. if you like the white trim or silver.

Ya, your right. I don't really care which color scheme. I think both are nice and that 700m is surely comming off as a 'collectors' item because of that unique color pattern (in my opinion). I also like the white keyboard on silver, whichever really. Whichever is best price or available.

Might as well just wait now and see what surprises, if any, are in store.

That's really strange. Don't the Dell people come to this website (and other websites too) and read about what other people think? Whose idea was it just to change the color? Did they even think about the specs? How would they let this go through? I'm not angry....just confused.

Yup. Oh they probably read what we think, but remember, we (forum posting individuals) are such a small fraction of the notebook purchasing industry that it doesn't make much a difference. When the thing is released (in general), people notice, they compare price, and they get the cheaper one (for same size/portability ect).

We are doing our research however, giving us the upper hand. But on this one, we won't notice any changes on the 710m because we know what the machine previous to it had.
