Yes it is. I think mine looks nice!

It is in fact the only machine that Dell has with this feature. And yes, it is nice.

That's a good question, as consumer oriented as the Inspiron line is, I'm really surprised they don't offer it. We'll have to see if they adopt it more widely in their next refresh, I'd say it's just a matter of time.

It's absolutely wonderful on these 17" screens -- a much needed improvement over the now-muddy-looking normal UltraSharp screens. -

i would've gotten the trulife with my 9300...but i didn't cuz it costed $125 more to get it...and i wasn't gonna pay tha much for just a little higher resolution and a glossy screen...although i've always wanted to have a glossy screen ..maybe in a few years when i go to college i'll get a glossy screen ...with maybe a Fujitsu if they still do have some of the best screens around

I do own a 700m also and love the glossy screen or TrueLife as Dell calls it. I am ordering a 9300 non-glossy because of the high rez font size. UXGA really is terrible IMO. I need glasses to read any text and as a software developer, there is no way I can work on that thing. I would gladly pay Dell $125 bucks to get the WXGA instead of UXGA. Though watching DVDs and pictures look fantastic on the glossy screen.

Put it another way: You don't buy a 75 dpi laser printer because the text from a 1200 dpi laser printer is too small to read. You buy the 1200 dpi laser printer because the text is smoother and easier to read. -
Screen on 700m and all other Dell's "super screens" is different. It is so much better that I was considering ordering 700m just because of that alone. It is white and vivid, not like UXGA they have on 17" which is bluish/grey and sparkly. I would guess that 17" version is just a matte XGA with a higher resolution and glossy cover, nothing different in product itself as far as material it made out of goes, seeing them side by side.
