    Hey guys,

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am computer novice but I am a fast learner so anything you guys can dish at me I will do my best to understand. I have a question (which maybe obvious to you all, I’m sorry I don’t know too much about laptops). However first I will tell you you my situation.

My laptop screen went black and very rarely, when I disconnect the AC power supply for a while, I will see light will come on and I can see everything lit up. So my screen isn't completely fried it's one of two things:

My question to you is: could this be a backlight problem (I need a CCFL tube)?

Or do I need a LCD Inverter Module or (here’s the possibly obvious question)

Because the LCD Inverter Module and CCFL Tube are not the same thing right?

What do you guys think will solve the problem the inverter or the backlight?

    Thank you all so much!

    Doug

This is a difficult one to diagnose to be honest, I'd probably suggest buying an inverter from eBay or something and trying that first because they tend to be cheaper.

The inverter and the CCFL are different things yes.

I assume you've tried an external monitor just to check that the problem is definitely with the internal display?
