    Hi folks,

just got the 700m delivered today. Nice thing....BUT once I remove the AC plug I think the screen gets a little too dark.

Do I have to brighten up the screen?
Maybe a stupid question......would appreciate yourhelp.

    Thanks
    Dirk

Hold down function key while pressing up arrow. Dell defaults to very low brightness setting on battery power to increase battery life.

Its kindof stupid, because Dell bases their battery life off of the dim screen. So if you have a bright screen with high contrast going on, your going to get a lot less battery life.

Just in case anyone wanted to know, or adjusted their screen brightness without remembering, the default " dim " setting is four clicks down from the AC powered brightness.

you can adjust the settings in the BIOS to automaticly not dim it as much, so you don't have to mess with it every time you unplug it.

note that the setting you shut down with will be remembered. the bios setting is automatically changed as you adjust it in xp. if you shut down at the level you want, it will be the same level when you startup again on that particular power source; ac or batt
