I had two Dell D820s that I had to return because of a high frequency noise similar to the one your describing. Does your laptop have a Core 2 Duo processor? I believe the noise problem with mine was coming from the C2D.

    *** BUMP PLEASE HELP!!! ***

I just got a new XPS m1210 yesterday. I notice this noise in the right corner of the system closest to the monitor if you are facing it. It also stops when I scroll on the internet then starts up again. It is pretty annoying, and I notice it more when its on battery.

My question is: is this a problem with EVERY xps m1210 unit or only a select few? I really like the system other than this, and some heat issues in the bottom left if you are facing the screen, but its most likely because I have the geforece 7400 option.

    Thanks~
