I have been looking for a new laptop to replace my 3.5 years old compaq and Dell 6400 looks like a very good deal. Now the question is: should I get one now or should I wait until Santa Rosa is released?

I have no plan of getting a Santa Rosa laptop as the price will be astronomical but I was hoping that there would a further price cut for the non santa rosa laptops. I have noticed that the price for Dell 6400 has actually increased by $20 since last sunday but I think it could some business tricks by Dell.

So what do you guys thinks? buy now or wait?

Well Dell may just totally get rid of C2D options, but I doubt it, there was a price cut when C2D came out so I think there should probably be one with santa rosa.

Well if you have waited this long, why not wait a few more weeks for Santa Rose. No one will really be sure what improvements SR will bring until it is out and somone does a real review on it with good benchmarks. Dell probably will mark the current machines down, it only makes sense. So if you need it now and want to take advantage of the deal you see now go ahead and purchase. But Dell is always going to have good deals even on machines with brand new hardware, atleast after a month or so. That's just what Dell does. In the end it call comes down to one word, "Patience".
