My dad cracked his laptop screen -- don't ask me how.. Anyways, what replacement part do I need to buy? I've looked on Ebay and prices fluctuate so wildly, and I can't tell the difference.

    For example:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6850318085&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

Do I need anything more than the one that sold for $61.99? Some auctions mention inverters and other stuff. The only thing that's wrong is the screen, so I'm assuming I can reuse all the parts like plastic etc, and I just need the screen itself? How difficult would it be to replace just the screen, or should I buy one of the pulls like the third auction above (which come with the plastic/etc ready to go)?

    Thanks for any advice!

To me the 3rd auction looks better than the others. The first one, I'm not even sure if a display is included.

In my opinion, you might as well get the extra parts with it. That way you don't have to take apart the old screen and transfer it to the new screen. If you just got one with everything on it, all you need to do is remove the keyboard and the hinge screws. Then unplug and remove the old display, and put the new one in.

If you get a display without all of the extra's, you have to remove the bezel and back part. There is a ton of screws involved, then replace it all back on the new one.
