I have decided to purchase a Dell 600m for price and portability and am trying to figure out the configuration while I wait for the $750 off $1499 coupon.
1. screen- Is it worth the $75 to get SXGA instead of XGA? I'm not a gamer.
2. memory- I've read that it is cheaper to upgrade memory oneself instead of getting it from Dell. I'd like to have 512MB RAM, 1 Dimm; any suggestions on maker and model?
3. hard drive- It seems Dell only offers 5400 rpm hard drives. Again, is it worth it to purchase and install a 60 GB, 7200 drive oneself? Hitachi?
4. coupon- Is there any way to know when the $750 coupon will be available other than checking every morning? Last time I just missed it.
Thanks for all your help!

1. it's based on ur own personal preference
2. if u go 2 www.newegg.com they have cheap prices.if u want the 512 MB RAm...then u should get the dual channel..and if u dont want dual channel...then jus buy a higher RAM spec. and add it urself later...
3. 5400 RPM is a pretty good RPM speed unless u multitask a lot...then i'd have 2 say 2 get the 7200...i'm not sure if it's easier 2 intall the hard drive urself tho...
4. i heard dell gives coupons every thursday and sometimes tuesdays...i'm not 100% sure tho...but it could b sumting like that

I would get the sxga if I were you, you get more real estate while browsing the internet, ect.
