I'm trying to choose between the Dell Inspiron 600M and the Dell Latitude D600.

I understand these are basically twins, but are there reasons for choosing one over the other?

I've checked the prices, and rebates aside they're similarly priced. But right now I'm not factoring the rebates into consideration because - if it came down to it - I think I'd rather have a computer I'm happy with than a couple hundred dollars. The question is, again, whether there's reason to choose one over the other.

I'd appreciate any insight you can offer.

    Thanks!

the Latitude D600 should come with a standard 3 yr. warranty as opposed to the 1-year warranty that comes with the 600m. And, although I'm not totally sure, I believe the D600 uses a slightly different case that's sturdier than the 600m.

I also believe the D600 uses a magnesium alloy casing.

I've had a 600m for about 1.5 yrs now. it's worked just fine, but one thing that's annoyed me ever since i've had is the grey/blue color scheme, and the plasticky feel of the casing.

My friend has the D600 (through work). I might be totally off on this, but while the D600 probably performs the same as my 600m, i can't help feeling that the d600 just feels much more solidly built. one thing's for sure though. it looks a whole of a lot more professional.

I got a D600 for under 1000 bucks, dont ask yourself whether the cheaper one or the better one, do whats better and do it Ebay.
