I've posted a number of times about finding the right notebook for college, and now I have finally narrowed it down to a Dell. I am not sure whether I should purchase the Dell 6000 or the 9300.

From what I read, the two seem to weigh about the same amount, even though I don't think I will be carrying it around too much, with the exception of from home to school on occasion. My gut instinct tells me to go with the 17in because it is still reasonably priced. Is this overkill? My current desktop has a 15in Flat Screen monitor.

I would like to pay about $1800 for a computer with at least a 2-3 year warranty. Is there a way for me to see these notebooks in person, or does anyone know where I can find some nice pictures of the notebook?

One more thing: When is the best time to actually order the notebook? Although I have the money now, I'm not sure if I should wait until a couple of weeks before school starts.

Any comparisons between these two notebooks would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

wow, im facing the same diccision, but in case you havent yet, check out the revies offered on this site. also http://laptopmag.com/Review/review_category.htm?category=notebook (dont know how to do links, so you could just copy and paste) has the reviews dell 6000 is on pg 6,and dell 9300 is pg 5.

additionally you should act soon, for theres a 750 off $1899 systems on the dells, not sure about all the terms to the deal, but i got the coupon to stick to my configured 9300 without any problems.

And i thought i was the only one who found it odd that i was comparing a dell to another dell. Well whichever you, thier both very well rated and the have some great stats, so you cant go wrong.
    Good luck in your decision
