I'm looking for some help guys.

I'm on the goal of upgrading my 1366 x 768 720p HD screen.

I just bought a 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS screen LG LP156WF6 (SP)(B1) to replace it but am having problems. Firstly the laptop will not display anything on boot, not even the post screen. I can hear it posting and loading windows. When I swap back the old screen works fine.

I thought I maybe had a dud screen, but funnily enough I have an older Dell Inspiron 3542 and I thought what the heck, doubt it'll wok. But it worked! it works on a older model but not mine!

This now makes me think its the screen cable may be the culprit. I think I need an EDP 30 pin FHD cable for my model. I can only find 1366 cables or 40pin ones for touchscreens.

Has anyone had any any luck installing a FHD non touch screen in this type of inspirons? (5545, 5547, 5548).

    Thanks
