Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the said module separately for my m1210? My understanding is that this is an update to 5500 which was 1.8Mbps vs 3.6 with an ability to upgrade to 7.2 Mbps down the road. Any tips and ideas are greatly appreciated :)

Every Dell part can be re-ordered although the re-order SKU might be different than the original. I am lazy or I would have looked this up for you but with a little bit of detective work you should be able to find the part number to order. This is how I got my replacement part for the Dell Bluetooth module. If you got it from the website, it was 50 bucks two years ago but I looked up the part and called the parts hotline and $20 and a couple of days later. Voila ;)
