Hello fellow Dell owners. I would like to upgrade a Dell 17R-5720 (3612QM, 8GB) to a (2.5 inch) solid state drive, not Msata.

All i would like to know, is that does this laptop have two HDD bays? Or do i need to swap out/caddy the current 1TB drive in the laptop?

    Thanks.

    no.

    17R (5720)..............1 hard drive
    17R SE (7720)........2 hard drives

just buy a SSD as you which (and and SSD cabinet....which often comes with the SSD itself and replace it with your hard drive)

    good luck !

ps...you must install windows later because you replace C: (but thats easy)

    1. Thank you

    2. Wow. That's kinda stupid considering both laptops share a very similar chassis.
