Which PA-?? model number adapters would go with my 17R 5720? I need to purchase a new one since they aren't covered by warranty and am looking on ebay and want to see if there are more options then the few results I'm getting.
Thanks

There's a lot of model numbers that can work; are you looking for a 90W or 65W adapter?

Preferably a 90W.

Look for anything in the PA-10 family. The old-style ones are PA-10, the slim ones are PA-3E, and the newer brick-type ones have a variety of numbers like PA-1900 or something.

Thanks.
Just a note to anyone who reads this in the future. When looking at listings on ebay make sure the adapter your looking at comes with the adapter and the cord that goes into it which plugs into the wall. Last time I got an adapter a few years ago the guy didn't list that it was just the adapter and not the extension cord so I ended up getting $5 back. -
I can confirm the Dell 130w DA130PE1-00 (PA-4E) adapter also works fine with the Inspiron 17R 5720.

Other specs for the Dell PA-3E adapteror compatible model you choose should have ....
Input Voltage: AC100-240V
Output Voltage: DC 19.5V
Output current: 4.62A
Total output power: 90W
Output Tips: Φ7.4*Φ5.0 with pin inside
for $39 bucks I would probably stick with a 90 Watt slim only because they look so much better then the older style ... the cord with the blue light just looks cool
