    Hi All,

    Once again I need assistance.

I have an external hard drive (which works perfectly well from my deskop computer),but for some unknown reason although it reads the files (.avi) it will not play them.

Can anyone help me urgently with this please as I have spent two days typing out a database for the songs and getting nowhere since the software or something is unable to read them. The same software works fine on my desktop and I have a licence for it for two computers.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

It sounds like your 1737 is missing the codec (aka decoder) for the .avi files.

http://www.codecguide.com/ hosts the "K-Lite Codec Pack" which contains most mainstream codecs. Downloading and installing the codec pack should fix your problem. It automatically installs it's own(basic but powerful) media player, you might want to opt out of this when you run the installation if you're using your own media manager.
