Ok I have already searched and followed any possible solutions I have found but I still only get about 4-5mbps either copying files onto a USB OR copying onto an SD card.

Before I enabled advanced performance in Disk policies I was only getting about 500kb/sec after that I get 4-5MB/sec

but I'm still not happy with that. My friends inspiron 15 copied the same files at 12MB/sec onto the same SD CARD!!!! I know I should atleast be getting 10.

    OS: vista HP 32
    CPU:t5550 @ 1.8Ghz
    RAM:3Gb DDR2
    HDD:160Gb 5400rpm SATA?
    GPU:8600mGt

Theres already a couple old threads like this on NBR and the solution was to enable performance in disk policies which has helped alot but not gotten me to 10 or 12 MB/sec

Have you recently reformatted or installed your OS? Do you have all the drivers installed? Perhaps a BIOS setting? I normally get at least 12Mbps

    surfasb, +1 for a great avatar ;)

no, yes, couldnt find a BIOS settings.

Its much better now. Just downgraded (upgraded I think) to xp and honestly I notice a huge difference. Also In media player when skipping songs there isnt a 1 second delay between song changes its just instant now.
