    Technically, there shouldn't be any reason that you're unable to do this upgrade, but in the past, laptops originally with 3945s have had trouble moving to 4965s, and laptops originally with 4965s have had trouble moving to 5300s, etc, etc. Just from what I've read, most of the time these upgrades work fine, but sometimes the newer cards just don't play happy with the older laptops.
