    Hey guys,
I upgraded my cpu from the celeron T3000 to the P8700 C2D and now the fan is at full speed always. I checked the temperatures via speedfan and it shows Temp1 at 83 celsius! it also says that temp1 is the ACPI. how do i fix this? im running windows 7 home premium, 4 gigs ram and genuine dell charger 65w. I'm clueless. i had to put back the old T3000 and now it works. need to find a solution as to how to run the P8700.
    Thanks

Did you clean off the older thermal paste and apply new TIM? You need to get all of the old stuff off the heatsink and CPU before applying fresh TIM.

Everything was cleaned as it should. i also used compressed air to properly blow out any hidden blocks of dust and lint. Fresh layer of Arctic MX4 was applied both on Cpu and Gpu. laptop clean formated to windows 7, Bios updated to the latest A14 but still nothing. A proper headache!!
