 I got this computer like two, three months ago and it sucks. Sometimes while I am using the built in mouse my pc will autmatically zoom in on the screen. Sometimes it freezes and I can't use the mouse and I will have to click another screen to get it to work. It runs slow. In the beginning it would constantly blue screen or have to system restore. Also the speakers suck. Sometimes while outside or other places trying to listen to the speakers they only go so loud. I called Dell and they said it's a software issue and they need money to help me. Best Buy would probably charge me the same thing after I already shelled out over a thousand buying the computer and warranty. Sometimes I just want to throw this pc over the balcony so I can get a new one but how do you explain that right? Anyways if someone could help me with these problems I would really appreciate it.

Some other things I don't like are the buttons to turn the speakers up and the thin fragile build of the computer. The webcam doesn't really take that good of pictures I don't like how my Mozilla doesn't let me watch videos on it from the net. I can't think of anything else right now.Someone help me with this raggedy pc.

Computer speakers suck, not much you can do about it.

The zooming could be from the settings. Go to the control panel and find the touch pad and see if there is anything there that can be adjusted. I use a external usb mouse.

The not playing video could be from missing some codex. Have you tried internet explorer, Opera or Chrome to see if they have the same issue.

Also check for Fire Fox updates.

And check dells website for updates.

Yea... the 1537 speakers apparently aren't very good at all... but like Clutch said... you can't expect much from laptop speakers. Get real speakers.

you could always reformat everything and start over... or reformat then sell it? haha

The zooming on the touchpad is an adjustable setting. Go to Control Panel > Mouse > Dell Touchpad. There will be an option to disable zoom.

The touchpad will sometimes have hiccups like that; it's a low quality Alps touchpad, and that's just what they do.

As for the speakers, try uninstalling the IDT audio drivers and letting Vista install its own. They will be significantly louder, but laptop speakers can only go so far.

For the Firefox video issues, I can guarantee that's a software issue, like a missing FF add-on or something, not an actual issue with the laptop.

I love the Alps touchpad. Once I downloaded the nodded drivers and enabled the registry tweaks that enable advanced mouse gestures the touchpad was the best I ever used, except for the Macbook's insanely large touchpad.

it seems the Op's problem is not the computer itself but instead the user.
