The 1525 and 1526 are soon to be released higher-end versions of the new Inspiron 15.4" notebook series.
The 1525 will offer up to a T7700 processor for a choice, come standard with the new Nvidia 8700M graphics card, and come in a separate color scheme: Red, White, Black, or Tan.
The 1526 is further off in the future, expected to land around November/December of this year. This separate line will offer the new Intel Core 2 Extreme mobile dual-core processors previewed in today's news post. Differentiated from the 1525 detailed above, this particular model will likely be branded as an XPS and offer top of the line components, build, and other options. Nvidia's upcoming 8800M GPU will be offered as an option to complement the geared-toward-gamers Intel Exxxtreme mobile processor. Other standard features include a carbon fiber body construction, standard 3 yr warranty as found on the Latitude line, slot-loading optical drive with options for HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, or combo HD optical drive. And as requested by many Dell customers, standard HDMI and DVI outputs, option for a WUXGA resolution screen, higher-capacity 12 cell battery (an idea taken from HP's consumer lineup), and a much welcomed one and a half pound decrease in overall weight. Lastly, as a nod to the "bling-bling crowd", this line will offer up to four unique flourescent colors that will radiate with blazing beauty when shown under a black light, as well as flash with special LED lights in key areas around the chassis when doing demanding tasks.
Expected starting prices for the 1525 and 1526 are $900 and $1100, respectively.
