I keep reading folks on here with T7300 1520s. But when I configure mine at dell.com I don't get that choice - it's either 7250 or 7500. I would go for the 7300 because of the extra cache, but how do I do that?

I think Intel is dropping the T7300, but I'm not sure.

Dell is probably out of those CPUs at the moment, so their not listed as an option currently. I do believe I saw that the Vostro 1500 had that CPU as an option yesterday though, and it was not an option the weak before, so maybe they will make the T7300 available on the Inspiron 1520 too soon.

EDIT: Yup, just checked they are an option on the 1500.

Why would Intel drop it? But if they are it might mean that they become cheap! :D

If they're dropping something, that usually means the price isn't going to change any more. At least that is what my experience indicates but I might be wrong.

Dell might be having a supply issue, they might not. It is certainly possible.

But I don't think 2MB of cache will make a super huge difference, so if the T7300 isn't an option in a week or so I'd recommend just getting the T7250 if you want. Most of the time you'll never notice the difference.
