huh? They don't even list the 1520 anymore. And the 1525 is Vista only.

EDIT: Yes you're right, the 1520 is now XP and the 1525 Vista. If you want a dedicated GPU, head over to the XPS 1530

It's their way of getting others to move to the higher end models. ;)
But, I'd think also, perhaps they're phasing out the 1520's cause of all the problems people had with them?

The 1525's WONT get a dedicated GPU. They want a bigger distinction between the inspirons and the xps lines. If you want a dedicated gpu, you can't buy an inspiron anymore, it must be an xps.

    How is it messed up?
The XPS 1530 costs about the same as the 1520 with the same specs, but a better GPU, and better looking. If you want a 1520 that much just buy it and then upgrade to Vista - you'll end up paying the same amount of money as if you had bougth it with Vista preinstalled

The XP upgrade over Vista is awesome, I wouldn't pass on that. Some people may think operating system upgrades are a waste of time, but let me tell you, upgrading from Vista to XP will give your system a real boost in performance and usability.

With the $400 off coupon, the Inspiron is about $165 cheaper.

That's what I was trying to say :p

And I bet that even a $100 - $200 difference would go away if the 1520 still had Vista as an option..
