I am using the stock Nvidia drivers for the 8600 and my fps is fine but when I play games the games freeze up.

CoD4 MW: the video will halt but sound keeps working screen goes black but will eventually comeback and be fine.

TF2: does all that only minus the coming back part, have to end process. yikes!

Guild Wars: will freeze and comeback even when windowed.

So overall its a real annoyance. I'm not sure if its overheating or driver issue. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Yep... The stock Dell 101.28 drivers for the nVidia GPU's are NOT very good--at ALL.

However, occasional Driver crashes is nothing to be worried about (granted, your case does NOT sound occasional, more like "frequent"). My display drivers just crashed while playing Gears of War earlier today.

My drivers fails all the time lately since I started overclocking. And I don't even overclock half as much as say Soulburner is overclocking his card.

Depends, are you using Vista/XP 32/64 bit? The 169.21 driver is good, and is also a MS WHQL Candidate. I'd recommend that one. You can find it in the forums at laptopvideo2go.com
