    Hey guys,

"downgraded" to XP on my inspiron 1520, and can't seem to get blue tooth working.

I did some searching and found this old thread..

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=176004

Did all the suggestions, but got nothing. Here is what I have tried

    Upgrading BIOS
Making sure Wireless switch is activated
Making sure BT is enabled in BIOS

Someone suggested a dell utility patch in the thread in the link above, which I tried - but it did nothing. If I check "compatibility" of the utility, its not even made for the 1520. (Also tried manual install)

I'm running out of ideas. My issue is when I try and install the driver, it says press fn +f2 or enabled the switch - over and over. Anyone have any fresh ideas?

the only thing i could think of is try and get the driver off the dell website... that usually has the best version of the drivers

both the driver disk and the website likely only have drivers for vista. With the downgrade, you will have to find drivers specific to XP. I would recommend the manufacturer's website, for the specific model.

Have you tried getting the drivers for the Vostro 1500? The machines are identical, except the Vostro shipped with XP.
